Fruits of the Beer Machine

A while back i started that beer machine. Kind of forgot about it, it was ready to drink a little over 2 weeks ago. But today i remember to drink it. i moved it to the fridge closer to the door so it would be easily accessible. Brent was over too so i got him a glass.

As i press down on the spout...all that came out was some C02 gas. i had this problem checking the seals before brewing...but to fix it i had to take it all apart and that isn't really an option now since its filled with beer. i checked the C02 cartridge and it was empty. Thought maybe if i replaced it there would be enough pressure to fill my glasses with beer.

Of course i had no idea where the C02 cartridges were and i couldn't use the ones from the BB gun because they're too big. After some looking for about 15 minutes i found them in a random closet in the house. Loaded it into the Beer Machine and...BEER! It worked! Though it didn't look like beer you get at a bar...no fun C02 bubbles floating up (nitrogen if you're drinking a Guiness). A possible reason for that is because it sat for an extra two weeks...i guess i'll just have to try it again. At least i got some head on the first glass.
It wasn't the worst beer i've ever had but it wasn't fantastic either. Probably just because it was flat. It was really sweet and didn't really taste like beer at first. i'd rather have this than Natural Light (Natty) or Milwaukee's Best (BEAST); and that's all i was really wanted. Have about 20 more beers in the beer machine...but no one to drink it with. Lemon...

Checked the Machine

Apparently, some people doubted the abilities of the Beer Machine. But its brewing strong, there is a pressure gauge on on the kit and when the yeast was first put in it was at 0 PSI. A day later it went up to 5 PSI. Now its been three days and its up to 15 PSI! SNAP! Thats a lot of CO2, and with CO2 comes alcohol! Woot! i just hope this stuff tastes better than Natural Light or Milwaukee's Best (Beast).

The beer machine has been put in the bathroom in the basement, with a little portable radiator to keep the room warm since the basement is pretty cold.

The Beer Machine

Brother-in-law Steve got a "Beer Machine" as a going away present. Since alcohol is illegal at his new residence....i go it! Nothing like a free beer machine.

The directions weren't well written. It directed to assemble the beer machine, load a CO2 cartridge, and see if there were any leaks. There were none but when i tired the spout the water wasn't coming out very fast. Maybe with some more CO2 it'll work better. After that, sterilized the beer machine with Clorox. i thought that was a little weird but i made sure to rinse it out well afterwards.

Filled it up with a little water, poured in the bag of dried malt, sprinkled in the brewer's yeast and screwed on the cap. Leave it set for 5 to 7 days, then move it to the refrigerator for another 5 days...and BEER! Supposedly dishes out twenty eight 12 oz beers...hope its good.
Time for the yeast...Brewing...
