Latif Bakery

Since my parents love the Thai House so much, we went there again for dinner. But this time with my dad's best friend Bill. We ordered a feast, the dishes just kept coming out. From Tom Yum Goong to giant fish. i really thought we weren't going to finish all the food...but we did. i wasn't even full, just satisfied which is part of the wonderfulness that is the Thai House.

Once the bill was paid we peaced. Before heading home we had to stop at the Latif Bakery. Not exactly sure
what goes into these delicious baked delight but its amazing. There are only three breads i get there, the labna cheese, labna cheese honey, and Zatar. You can't go wrong with those, they're so good when the come nice and warm straight from the oven, so i bought 10 of each. i think labna is just goat yogurt, and if its not...i don't care what it is because its delicious. Zatar is some ridiculous mix of spices used in the Middle East. Prepared using ground dried thyme, oregano, marjoram, or some combination thereof, mixed with toasted sesame seeds, sumac and salt.

Labna Cheese...
On the way back to Cheri's, i got a phone call from Jon, it was party time. For some reason i thought i was going to be consuming less alcohol in Saudi than what i do in the states. Boy was i was wrong, i had a wonder selection between jager bombs, budlight, new castle, Heineken, and corona.
We didn't have too much time to party this night. Senim had to be home at like 11pm. What a ridiculous curfew for a someone over 21 yrs old. The parents are turkish, so i guess thats how they all roll. She called home and ended up getting the curfew pushed back to 12:30. For some reason we waited until 12:26 to head back when we were a good 15 minutes away. While getting ready to leave, Senim said she couldn't go back home because she reeked of smoke and booze, there was only one thing that could cover up that smell...SHAWARMAS from Golden Juice!! We quickly hopped in the car and headed into Khobar.
This place makes the best shawarmas hands down. i'd have one of these over a philly cheese steak any day, and boy am i man that enjoys his cheese steak...and salt water taffy. The shawarmas were just as good as i remembered if not better. i had two just like back in the day...so much better than the lame shawarmas i had my second day from Rahima. Turks don't know how to make a shawarma, the dude didn't even stuff the meat and junx in the arabic bread!
If there was a shawarma eat off...i'd win hands down.
