Luxor

For a change of scene brent and i decided to check out this hookah bar in Lansdale, Luxor Hookah Cafe. They have a pretty awful website but looked like they offered some of my favorite middle eastern food. We got there pretty early in the night, a little before 8pm. It was pretty empty, maybe too empty for a Wednesday. There were a bunch of high school kids, at least they looked like high school kids...surely not gangsta enough to be closer to my age.

It costs ten bones for a hookah at this place, i consider it a little over priced since i can buy a box of shisha for 5 bones and makes about 6 bowls. But thats just me. They don't even use natural wood coals, they use the chemical bathed easy light coals that everyone uses, which is pretty lame.

Despite all that it was a really nice place. The furniture was pretty comfortable and the place was very well decorated. It was really cold in the building and there was so much air circulation i couldn't even make "o's" with the hookah, pretty much the only reason i smoke it.

For food brent and i agreed to get the "Super Platter" with all kind of random stuff that i don't feel like listing. The humus was alright but there were only a few piece of bread to eat it with and we quickly ran out and had to ask for more. The 'shawarma' was pretty lame, not even close to what i'm use to eating...

The first hookah bowl brent and i smoked was mixed fruit...it was horrible, we thought we were going to die. By the time Alaine showed up we got another hookah with mint which was a million times better. Like smoking listerine or something.

Maybe if we had a bigger crowd, some booze, and a jacket for myself it would be worth going back...but if its just going to be brent and myself we're better off staying at home with one of our own hubbly bubblys.
