The Big Shin Dig

My mom always has to throw a huge party when she comes back to Vietnam. Usually she throws one for Tet (chinese new year) but since she isn't going to be here for that she had to find another reason to throw a party. Supposedly this party was for cheri, steve, and sarah since all their birthdays are close to each other. steve denied that the party was for him. i think his reasoning was that he wouldn't take away any of the attention from cheri and sarah.

Here is the few from the balcony. i don't even know if we filled up all the tables.
The vietnamese guy on the left is my mom's childhood friend and now bishop. The guy on the right is the current priest at the church across the road. They both know french really well too!
steve felt like this was our chance to hang out with all the cousin's husbands and our cousins. We may not know how to speak vietnamese...but we do know how to drink! The cool thing to do at parties is to throw your empty beer cans under the table to make room for more beer. It didn't take long for us to kill the cooler. The boys sent Tin (because he's the youngest) out to get another 30 pack for all of us.
This was the pile after all the beer was gone. There were like 9 of us so it isn't that impressive, i know. But i was feeling pretty good at this point.
This picture was actually the following day i believe but since its the only picture i have that day i'll just throw it in this post. My parents took everyone out to eat. The sad thing was that my mom could have cooked a better meal at half the price easily. But it was nice to get out and see all the cousins get dressed up.
