Haha, Ha Tien

Instead of flying back to land from Phu Quoc, we found that it would be shorter if we just took a boat back to land. There were a couple choices in boats. We lucked out as a hydrofoil was available for when we wanted to go back.

We took our bikes to the ticketing office where we would be picked up by a bus. This was the most ridiculous bus i have ever been on. It was fine at first because we were at the first stop. But later i found out that we would be making like 8 more stops to pick up people. There was not an inch of empty space in this thing. i felt like a fish in a can. i guess it wasn't that bad. Took about an hour to get where we were going.
Our boat was pretty fancy. There were a good amount of people on the boat. There was kind of assigned seat but not...like they seated you at first but then said you could go where ever you wanted. Weird..
While watching people come aboard i noticed this lady had puppies, in a bag! Who puts puppies in a bag? Apparently short Vietnamese women do. Aww, poor puppies. They had wire wrapped around their necks and tied to the handles of the bag. i got some video of them and petted them. Ugh i wish i could have taken them home with me.
i was only going to put one picture of these cute puppies but i couldn't decide on which one so i ended up putting both of them up. They're same same...but different.
The boat ride was interesting. cheri got super sea sick. Puking in bags and what not just like half of the passengers. Lucky me was in the front of the cabin where this little trash can sat by my feet where all the vomit bags ended up. i got a little nauseous but i just thought about land and happy thoughts and i was fine.

When we arrived at our destination my mom was waiting for us down the road with a van along with three of my cousins and marie's gang.

Our next stop was the families favorite sea food restaurant. This place is so chill. We unload all of our bottles of wine and booze and sit in hammocks until our order is brought to a table. The sea food is so fresh. The squid was so ridiculous. It was extremely meaty and just melted in your mouth. Kind of grossed me out how good it was.

After lunch we lounged some more to digest our meal. One of the kids at the restaurant found a horse shoe crab! i don't think i've ever seen a live one. They're so freaky. Like some kind of alien or something. i don't even see how anyone could eat one of these things there is no meat on them.
Once we were packed up we headed towards the caves! Walked through some Buddhist junx. Got enlightened and what not.
These photos are out of order but it doesn't affect how cool steve looks in this hat.
Token family picture with the tree on the beach...with ants on it.
On the way to the caves there a couple little have you can go through. This tunnel jack and sarah went through...sarah made it through alright but jack fell and cut up his leg pretty good. But he's a tough boy and he didn't let that ruin his day.
jack.
i don't even remember taking this picture.
Here is Tao and me keeping it real on a rock. Almost fell because my sneakers have like zero traction on slippery rocks.
To see the fancy cave you have to take a boat to a crazy rock surrounded by water. Pretty good hide out if you ask me.
We all had to wear life vests. It might be for safety...or it was because anna would scold us if we weren't wearing one.
Here is a shot of jack's leg all cut up. What a champ!
My mom and sarah.

Here is the dock to the cave! i don't remember this being here 13 years ago...probably wasn't. Must have become more popular over the years.
This generator was definitely not here when i was a kid...
Woot! We're almost there!
i wasn't smart enough to bring sandals so i had to do it bear foot. Last time i was there i stubbed my big toe on a rock and it bled everywhere. :'( But not this time! i'm older and wiser!
i'm not sure what the deal is with this rock but its like a thrown or something and there is a chicken involved? The rock above my head, you can't really see it at this angle but its shaped like a chicken! Its so weird.
Climbing a latter to a water hole. Didn't check to see if it was fresh water...if it was that would awesome. You could hide out there forever!
Done with the cave and heading back to the van.
i forget the vietnamese name for these two rocks but i think it translates to english as 'father and son'. Because they're same same...but different.

Bzzz! A thing that anna and i do. Makes her laugh.
On the way out i saw this caged bird eating a fish...took a picture of it.
Squirrels! Dramatic squirrels?
anna shooting her dad with a gun...oh man, priceless.
