Pandas in Phu Quoc?

Alright, time for our next dive location!Phu Quoc! We headed over to the Saigon Airport. We were all pretty hungry and got some snacks at the little restaurant/snack bar they had there.

i was craving a sandwich. So i got a ham and cheese sandwich plus another crazy pork roll sandwich. Not your typical pork roll...this is your asian pork roll where you don't really want to know how they make it. But it is delicious.

Here is our dinky plane we took. i hate planes with propellers. i feel like they're so unsafe compared to the jet engine ones. But i guess they're both susceptible to crashes after seeing that crazy Hudson River landing.

Getting a hotel here was a real adventure. Once we scheduled and paid for our diving the lady told us that hotels were located just 5 minutes up the road. She failed to mention it was 5 minutes by scooter...So we walked awhile and the hotels we did see were either booked or mad expensive because they were so fancy. We ended up hoping on the back of 3 scooters and driven to one of the cheaper hotels because it was so ridiculously far. Even took a dirt road to get there.
Once we got settled in our bungalows we got some drinks at the Rainbow Bar.
What?! There are pandas in Phu Quoc?! The colors are a little off but its climbing bamboo and eating it...and its too big to be a koala...
After hanging out at our bungalows for a bit we headed over to the 4 star resort down the road where they were having a buffet. We were there pretty early so Cheri and my dad helped themselves to a massage on the beach!
The beach at our hotel was nicer than the 4 star place but they have a bunch of other crazy stuff going for them.
We rented some scooters so we could get around the town. They were pretty cheap and a lot of fun. But the town was tiny! Took us like 40 minutes to cover all of it!
After touring the town we hit up the buffet. They had a really good spread. The only problem was that the cooks at the grill weren't cooking the skewers and seafood long enough so you had to be careful of what you were eating.
Hmmm, fresh coconut!
They even had pizza!
Flan and fruit for dessert!
After dinner i headed over to the beach where there was more light. i couldn't bring ashley on this trip so i did the next best thing, brought the beach to her via skype! Too bad it was dark out so you couldn't really see the beach with the webcam...lemon.

Look at this giant chess set! anna would love this. She had a little portable chess set she was playing with earlier in the trip.
